Shiv Shakti Hostel - Rishikesh

Great location near temples and restaurants, perfect for exploring the area. The rooms were clean and cozy, with individual fans. While the staff were mostly helpful, I had some issues with communication regarding reservations that left me feeling a bit uneasy. A decent stay for budget travelers.

The staff were welcoming, even finding us late at night, which was a kind gesture. The location is fantastic, with great restaurants, temples, and riverside access nearby. The rooms were clean, cozy, and equipped with individual fans, allowing for personalized comfort. Communication was a breeze, as the staff spoke English fluently, making it easy to navigate the area.

I would definitely recommend this hotel.

I stayed here recently, and I must admit the location was a major plus! It's super close to the main street, making it easy to explore. The room was big and surprisingly comfy, and I appreciated that there was hot water at the sink. All in all, it had the potential to be a great stay!

The negatives were hard to ignore. The washrooms were pretty unsanitary, and I felt unsafe with the glass doors. Not to mention, we had some uninvited guests in the form of cockroaches! Plus, the staff wasn't very responsive when we had issues. I can’t recommend this place based on my experience.

I had a terrible experience staying at this hostel. The place was filthy, with cockroaches crawling around, and to top it off, a fan was mysteriously removed from my bed while I was out. Staff couldn't care less-totally unacceptable!

the staff were friendly, fun, loving, and did their best to maintain harmony. the organized set, up of the dorms was impressive, and the cleanliness and maintenance of the amenities, including the rare 2 showers with attached WC, were top. I especially loved the complimentary tea and the friendly resident cat who added a touch of excitement to the hostel experience. the location was ideal, close to restaurants, shops, and yoga centers. Cons: Nothing, it was perfect! 😊.

I had a fantastic stay at this lovely hostel! From the moment I arrived, the family and staff made me feel right at home. They were always there to help with anything I needed and the rooms were cleaned regularly. The location of the hostel is excellent, just off the main road with plenty of restaurants nearby and a short walk to the river. I especially enjoyed the weekly family dinners and the friendly atmosphere created by the staff. The value for money was exceptional and I even got to meet some amazing people during my stay. I highly recommend Shiv Shakti!

We had a fabulous stay at this budget-friendly hostel. The beds were comfortable with curtains for privacy, and the air conditioning kept us cool. The staff were helpful in organizing trips and activities. The rooftop area was great for laundry.

The hostel provided a comfortable and cozy stay with private beds equipped with curtains, lights, and power outlets. the location was ideal, surrounded by shops and restaurants, making it convenient to explore the area. the staff was incredibly helpful and friendly, offering a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

The Wi-Fi connection was inconsistent, often cutting in and out. towels were not provided in the room upon arrival, which was a minor inconvenience.

The location of the hostel was perfect, right in the heart of the yoga hub surrounded by great cafes and shops. The building itself was well maintained with a comfortable lounge and a rooftop lounge that offered stunning views of the city. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, making us feel right at home.

There were a few downsides to our stay. The lack of hot water for showers was a major disappointment, especially during the cold November weather.

We particularly enjoyed the free dinners and tours they arranged. The rooftop terrace offered stunning views, and we adored the presence of the two adorable dogs. Cons: Can't think of anything 😊.

The staff at this hostel were absolutely amazing, always welcoming and willing to go above and beyond to ensure a great stay. They even upgraded our room when there was an issue with the hot water. The rooms were clean and comfortable, with AC and fan for a perfect sleep. The private balcony was a nice touch. The hostel also offered family dinner nights with delicious food, music, and dancing. The staff made us feel at home and were incredibly helpful, even taking one of us to the hospital for free. The beds were super comfortable and the hostel had a fun and sociable atmosphere. The double rooms were spacious and had hot water, comfy beds, and a balcony with a nice view. The hostel had lots of activities on offer and even a resident dog who was adorable. Despite some renovation work, it didn't disrupt our stay at all. a fantastic place to stay with great value for money and a lovely atmosphere.
